As I walking downtown Friday, I saw a woman dressed a little differently. Something like Mother Goose maybe, I thought, with her apron and print hat. Must be some sort of promotion.
Then when I crossed the street to the door of Pizza Sam’s, I saw three gentlemen walking my way, sporting white beards and red fedoras, and I smiled. Santa school.
Inside, there were tables pushed together and surrounded by Santas. There were a few women in red stocking caps, and I realized the woman I saw earlier probably was Mrs. Claus.
In case you’ve never heard of the Santa school, check it out here. It is hosted at the Santa House downtown, and my children were part of the “test group” when they went to school at St. Brigid.
As I left and headed back to the office, I caught the eye of another passerby who was smiling at the Santas. “I love Santa school day,” I told her.
Her daughter loved it, too she had seen a doubledecker bus, packed with Santas.
