We have a kind of insane amount of ornaments, which is part of why we have to get an 8-foot tree. (We also just really, really love Christmas trees.) We have so many ornaments because the kids still are home and we maintain the tradition my mother started with my family, which is that each child chooses a new ornament each year so whenever they head out on their own they already have a full set.
