This baby isn’t supposed to look like this. This luna moth was a “crasher,” falling to the floor of the case as soon as it emerged, before it could orient itself to hang and let its wings develop properly. I moved it to the screen mesh of the moth case and it recovered nicely.

This was last week, as spring break made things far too zooey to take any photos today at Butterflies in Bloom; yesterday there were 1400 visitors.
