Book Diary, 01032024 edition

One of my 2024 goals is to read from an analog book every day. This is one of the current selections, endlessly fascinating. It tells so much about the oceans and their residents. And it was published in 2014, so when I am through I’ll be searching digital sources for updates on some points of interest.

JAN. 22 UPDATE: I read nonfiction articles, but few nonfiction books … until I seized upon this one. My mate saw the stickies and laughed in surprise, and I said they marked topics I need to follow up on, to learn about the current research. This is both work — not paid, just effort — and FUN. And yes, I have other ocean research in my #TBR. Sperm whale clicks, the hadal zone and chemosynthesis in particular intrigue me.
