Wow, 10 days. I’ve been delinquent.
It has been a beast of a time.
You know how lots of people barbecued and boated in early summer, and some of us fantasized about going to the beach?
Didn’t happen here. We had a trench dug around two sides of our house, so my husband could lay in new drain tile and our son could tar the walls. Then there was filling it all back in. When the yard finally was flat again, it was a little jarring.
And school let out. You’d think that would be simple, but no. There was a last dance. There was a field day. And there were exams, and the stress of exams, and now the waiting for the report cards to be mailed home.
Did I mention the gratitude for the delay between the last day of school and the reading of the grades, so there is no way to be grounded for the first days of summer break?
Next up: the last yard sale ever.
