“Is that a Ferrari?” asked my son the car freak.
I doubted it. We were at the fringes of downtown Bay City around 7 a.m., passing through on our way somewhere else.
I glanced to the right. Hmm. Turned right instead of going straight, pulled in by the car. Red Testarossa.
“You’re right,” I said. “Do you want to get out?”
“No, that’s OK,” he said, studying it through the window.
We gawked another few seconds and regained our path. It’s not the first time we’ve detoured for a hot car, and I’m sure there will be more.
It’s his version of stopping to smell the roses.
