In the background, I can hear the TV as my son watches the U.S. women’s curling team in a must-win match against the Russians.
I have to say, most of the Olympic commentators do a pretty good job of explaining the sports to neophytes. As a bonus, for most of the curling coverage, you can hear the athletes themselves, encouraging and agonizing and strategizing.
My husband and son are taken enough with the sport that they want to try it themselves. If you’re having the same inclination, check out the Midland Curling Club. I believe it’s one of only three in the Lower Peninsula.
